Started in January 2006, the Nelson Mandela Bay Ocean Racing Series is one of the largest beachfront events in Africa and is unique to Nelson Mandela Bay, Africa's water sport capital.
OPEN TO ALL, the Series offers an opportunity for open water swimmers, fun runners, walkers and ocean paddlers to come together on a fortnightly basis to take part in a world class fun event - without the requirement of expensive equipment or specialist skills.

Race Day Entry Fee
Race day entry fee is only R50 - once you've raced, your race number will become your Series number which you'll use for the whole season. All finishers at EVERY Race Day receive a world leading Cytomax hydration drink from
CytoSport in a Ready-to-Drink bottle (not your usual sports day warm diluted drink in a cup), a Series medal, the opportunity to win a Gold meal (for category winners) or Gold, Silver or Bronze race medals (for overall Men's and Ladies winners) PLUS a chance to win in our lucky draw prizes with over R15,000 in lucky draw prizes EVERY Race Day.
A late registration fee of R20 will apply to all people who register on race days

The world's most respected swim-improvement programme - famed for teaching a special relation with the water, has joined the Ocean Racing Series to bring workshops to Nelson Mandela Bay during Season 5.
